If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?
If I had a freeway billboard, I wouldn’t just slap on some generic motivational quote. Nope, I’d aim for something a bit more… unique. Something that would make you chuckle, ponder life’s great mysteries, and maybe even feel a little inspired.
Here’s what my billboard would say:
“You’re not just a human, you’re a human doing something. Like, breathing. That’s something, right?“
Beneath this profound (and slightly silly) statement, I’d add a smaller, more serious message:
“Believe in yourself, even when you’re not sure what you believe in.”
Why this particular combination? Well, let’s break it down:
- The Humorous Message:
- It’s a lighthearted reminder that we’re all doing our best, even if it’s just surviving another day.
- It encourages a bit of self-deprecating humor, which can be a great stress reliever.
- It subtly challenges us to find meaning in the mundane.
- The Inspirational Message:
- It’s a simple, yet powerful message that resonates with many.
- It encourages self-belief, even during times of doubt and uncertainty.
- It’s a gentle nudge to keep moving forward, no matter how small the steps.
The juxtaposition of humor and inspiration is intentional. It’s a reflection of the human experience: a mix of joy, sorrow, absurdity, and profound meaning.
So, the next time you’re stuck in traffic, and you see my billboard, I hope it brings a smile to your face and a spark of inspiration to your soul. And if not, well, at least you got a good laugh out of it.
