My Brain Just Did a Cartwheel (and Possibly Pulled a Hamstring)

Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

Okay, you asked for the first thing that came to mind. Deep breath… here goes.
Giraffes wearing tiny top hats playing the ukulele while riding unicycles through a field of oversized daisies.

Yep. That’s what my brain coughed up. I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe it’s the caffeine kicking in. Maybe it’s a latent memory from a particularly bizarre dream. Or maybe my subconscious is just trying to tell me I need more whimsy in my life.

Anyway, now that that’s out of my system, I feel strangely lighter. It’s like my mental hard drive just defragmented itself with a burst of pure, unadulterated silliness.

So, what does one do with an image like that? I suppose I could try to analyze it for hidden meaning. Are the giraffes a metaphor for something? Is the ukulele a symbol of lost potential?

Are the oversized daisies a commentary on the fleeting nature of beauty?

Nah. I think I’ll just embrace the absurdity.

Maybe I’ll even try to draw it later. (Spoiler alert: my artistic skills peak at stick figures).

What’s the first thing that pops into your head right now? Don’t be shy, share the weirdness! Misery (and bizarre mental imagery) loves company.
