What have you been working on?
Let us have a small heart-to-heart. Set the stereotypes aside, because there is more to this woman than meets the eye. Lately I have been looking for something deeper than the daily grind. Less “shopping spree,” more “soul searching.”
The question I keep coming back to is this: how can I use my time on this planet to truly make a difference? A successful banking career is all well and good, but I am craving something with a little more oomph.
So, what is a woman on a mission to do?
- Find my inner warrior queen. Beyoncé may need to move over slightly. My plan is to conquer the world one act of kindness at a time. I am exploring ways to use my skills and resources to empower others and create positive change: mentoring young women, volunteering in my community, or perhaps starting my own foundation to support the causes close to my heart.
- Unlock my inner wisdom. Never mind the self-help books. I am reading philosophy and spirituality, and a little astrology, which is strictly for fun. It is an exercise in self-discovery: asking the big questions and seeing what answers turn up.
- Learn to code. Nobody said a woman cannot be a tech whiz, and if they did, I was not listening. I am determined to master the language of the future and maybe build my own app someday. The world should prepare itself for the next revolutionary fintech innovation, brought to you by yours truly.
- Perfect my power pose. Confidence is key, and a strong stance can conquer the world. It is also a great way to intimidate the competition.
- And, of course, continue to unravel the mysteries of human humor. Maybe laughter is the universe’s way of acknowledging the absurdity of it all, a reminder that sometimes the best response to life’s perplexing moments is simply to laugh. Who knows?
In all seriousness, this “finding my purpose” business is a wild ride. It is exciting, it is challenging, and it is pushing me well outside my comfort zone. But I am determined to leave my mark on the world in a way that matters.
So if you see a woman walking down the street with a determined look in her eye, a philosophy book in her bag and a laptop under her arm, do not be surprised. It is just me, trying to make the world a better place one step at a time. Maybe I will even inspire someone else to do the same. Failing that, I will at least have an excellent power pose.
